Tracking Public Records Against Stonewalling

Mr. Huerta:

I want to come into Ms. Flaig’s office at 1 p.m. on the 21^st before the board meeting to review the personnel folders I requested.

I also want to see administration data on the history and status of its intentions toward the Head Start children.

Your claim that “there are no public records on the status of the Head Start children.” Are you trying to be clever with semantics here, or is there not a word written in the administration records on the Head Start children?

There must be something because Dr. Stephenson referred to it in her letter to the Tampa Tribune protesting its editorial condemnation of the administration’s kicking out these children from the campuses. Dr. Stephenson referred to the college “business plan” in defending the cruelty to these children on the administration’s part. So the Head Start children must be cited in the business plan.

I want see that and anything else that refers to the status of these children--past, present, or future. Don’t try to evade this duty to give me these Head Start data. The public-records law says anything written on material—even a piece of toilet paper, one infers—is public records if the institution comes under the Florida public-records law as does HC C.

Check with Mr. Carraway. He is my guarantee that I get the public records I request on HCC .

The next meeting of the HCC Board of Trustees is on August 21, 2007 beginning at 3:00 PM at the District Administrative Offices.
